IxChel: La Diosa de la Luna
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtkeNM1B1Ko
This is a great video about a story from Guatemala. I will definitely use this video as a listening activity and to expose my students to some Latin American culture.

Foreign Langauge in the Elemantary Schools (FLES)
http://www.tesd.k12.pa.us/fles/teacher_resources.html
In this website you will find a lot of teacher resources for any context. There are games, vocabulary words, activities, songs, and lesson plans that you may use to teach any language. I find this website interesting because it has a lot of good ideas of how to teach important vocabulary words that you have in your own classroom. Also, there is a link to commentaries on students' favorite activities which I think it's helpful to read if it's your first time teaching and you don't have an idea of what kind of activities your students might enjoy doing.

Mama Lisa's World
http://www.mamalisa.com/?t=sh
I recommend this website to everyone interested in teaching English, French or Spanish to young learners. In this website you will find a variety of songs from around the world that you may use in your lessons. Most of the songs are translated in the three langauges mentioned above. Teachers may also use some of these songs whenever they talk about a specific country. For example, if you will be teaching about Venezuela, you  may use one of the songs found under the Venezuelan list of songs.

Online Resources for Teachers of Spanish
http://www.iteachspanish2.com/Bienvenidos.html
This is a good website that has  alot of ideas to teach Spanish. I especially like the idea of having students recite their phone numbers to the whole class as a practice activity after they have learned the numbers in Spanish. Also, if you keep on browsing in this website, you will find a variety of activities that you can incorporate in your lessons to teach different topics like colors, food, family, days of the week, and adjectives.

Españole
http://www.espanole.org/
This is a website for teachers and students interesting in Spanish. This is a great website if you're planning to teach your students about the countries where they speak Spanish. If you click on the "countries" link, you will find all kinds of infromation about 20 hispanic countries. Therefore, if you want to do a cultural project, this is a god resource. Also, there are some literature resources for the Spanish teacher.

  1. ¡Gracias por los sitios interestantes! Me gustaron especialmente el mito de los maya y las canciones del sitio de Mamá Lisa. Algunos de los enlaces de "Españole no funcionaron, pero otros me llevaron a sitios muy interesantes de artistas latinas. Y el sitio de iteachspanish2.com me dio mucha risa con su enlace a la canción "First Semester of Spanish Love Song" que he esuchado antes, pero ¡que chiste!

  3. Hello Sarai,

Excellent blog! I have a blog for learners of Spanish called Verbs in Spanish. As the name says it, it helps learners to learn how to use and conjugate Spanish verbs. :-) Would you like to recommend it?
